Band Biography

THE SOULS hail from deepest South England. They are young in age averaging 22.

Very 2005. Very now. Very happening. The boys are bringing a great new dimension to some of the true greats of British guitar pop. Talking about The Clash, The Jam, The Specials, XTC; The Police et al. Songs that talk to the world. Topics that reflect British life in 2005, such as being in debt, feeling lonely, no hope, suicide but it is not all misery.

LIVE - you will NOT see a better band. The Souls win over crowds every single time. They slay audiences and the audience loves it.

The summer of 2004 was a busy time for the three piece releasing records. Firstly featuring 'Gangsta' on the Fierce Panda ?On The Buzzes? record that included the likes of Razorlight, Ludes, The Rakes and The Rocks. They also contributed their song ?Bleeding Gums? to the Velocity release Abuse Your Friends Volume 4. August 2004 saw them release their debut Velocity single. A double A side 7? ?Wasteland?/?Listen?.

Word is getting out and people are paying attention. Along the way they have caught the attention of music legends such as Rat Scabies, Glen Tilbrook, Roger Winslet, Alan McGee and Neville Staple.

If you love music. If you need music. If you need it so bad. Then welcome The Souls into your life.

The Souls will start recording their second Velocity single early 2005 and should released in March 2005.

Harnessing the natural power of alcohol, different fluids were imbibed and partaken of until all were ready to receive the much-vaunted Souls, and Rich, Dave and Will did not disappoint. It wasn?t just the sharp, Mod suits and snappy shoes, it wasn?t just the fantastically tight musicianship from all concerned (especially the drumming, which was better than spot-on) and it wasn?t even the songs, hugely catchy, energetic and well crafted though they were. The whole was greater than the sum of all these parts, and the crowd defied the heat and the humidity to skank along. The Self Preservation Society, The Rising Sun Arts Centre, Reading.
